CDC’s
Supported Employment Program (SEP)
The
Supported Employment Program is designed to provide placement and job coaching
services to individuals that are either physically or mentally challenged.
Prior to job placement, a thorough job analysis and review of the person's
capabilities is done to help insure suitability for the employment
opportunity. Job coaching services
are provided for the purpose of helping the person served maintain integrated
employment through the appropriate application of task instruction, job related
skills training, advocacy, plus continuing assessment and monitoring of
progress.
Competitive employment, supported employment and other
vocational opportunities are emphasized through CDC's programs. Qualified job coaches help train and
support the employees until they perform the job independently. Periodic follow-up continues as long as
needed.
Employment in the community is another means toward
independence with a tremendous growth in self-esteem. Some of the jobs are full time with benefits others are part
time. Persons once considered
unemployable are now earning their own way.
The extent and duration of these services will vary depending
upon the needs of the program participant and availability of funding. We would like to have the opportunity
to meet with you and discuss our program in more detail. Please feel free to contact us at (618)
842-2691 ext. 316.
