   Wayne County Recycling Center

The Wayne County Recycling Center makes around 120 pick ups weekly in Wayne, Edwards and White Counties.  The Recycling Center employs eight hard-working consumers that are busy sorting and bailing the many materials received daily.  In 2005, the Wayne County Recycling Center recycled 1,403, 606 pounds of recyclable material!

   Drop offs can be made at 501 SW 10th St. in Fairfield

             

Recyclable material includes:

Plastic Containers:  All plastic containers with a 1 or 2 on the bottom are acceptable.

Milk jugs, soda and water bottles, laundry detergent jugs, dish detergent and shampoo bottles, etc are acceptable.  Remove & throw away lids and please rinse and drain containers before recycling. 

 

Paper Products:  Newspaper, ad slicks, junk mail, magazines, corrugated cardboard, catalogs, computer & office paper, envelopes, file folders, textbooks, paperback & telephone books. 

These items provide recycling jobs for our consumers who work in the Development Training Building

 

Aluminum Cans:  Rinse and clean cans.  No foil, scrap aluminum, steel or bi-metal cans are acceptable.  *If a magnet sticks to the can, it is not acceptable material!
