CDC Programs

Career Development Center is a uniquely capable service-provider that helps people with disabilities reach levels of accomplishment beyond their previous abilities and therefore attain a better quality of life. Historically, most of this activity has been directed to help individuals with mental retardation and/or developmental disabilities.

Any adult enrolled in a program at CDC is given the opportunity to do paid work regardless of the severity of the disability. Various types of jigs, structures, and technology are used to enable the individual to move toward greater independence.

For some individuals, a program involving activities of daily living is all they can manage. Direct Care Staff are trained to help them manage even the most basic functions. The challenge becomes one of helping to function a little more independently today than yesterday.
